Gladys Maria Holloway, 91, passed away at 9:27 a.m. Oct. 25, 2015, in Warsaw Meadows Care Center.
She was born Dec. 14, 1923, in Monticello, Ky., to William and Una Denny Bell. On Feb. 23, 1946, in Warsaw, she married Nelson Holloway, who preceded her in death Feb. 29, 2012.
She was a 1941 graduate of North Webster High School. She lived most of her life in Burket. She was an inspector for Playtime and F.I. Seaman Co. a total of 16 years, retiring in 1969.
She enjoyed playing Dominos and loved being outside gardening and taking walks. Most of all, she loved being with and took great care of her family. She was a great example of sacrificial love.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (and spouse Steve) Mikel, Farmington Hills, Mich., and Beulah (and spouse Paul) Onstott, Burket; a son, Barry (and spouse Karen) Holloway, Olathe, Kan.; seven grandchildren: Troy (and spouse Suzanne) Brindle, Havertown, Pa.; the Rev. Scott (and spouse Kelly) Mikel, Livonia, Mich.; Chad Mikel, Kokomo; Tammy Mikel, Farmington Hills, Mich.; Daniel (and spouse Chelsea) Mikel, Manchester, Mich.; Amber Holloway, Overland Park, Kan.; Marisa Holloway, Lenexa, Kan; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wm. “Whitey” (and spouse Nancy) Bell, Hickory, N.C. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Effie Vanderkolk, Evalee DeVreese and Beulah Bell; and a brother, Guy Bell.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, with the Rev. Scott Mikel, her grandson, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
