Gladys L. Wiard, 87, of 207 N. Columbia St., Warsaw, died at 4:20 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.

She was born May 3, 1922, in Decatur, Mich., to Jett Eldo and Mabel Hayden Bagley. On Aug. 31, 1952, in Chicago, Ill., she married Norman L. Wiard, who died Jan. 21, 1994.

Living in Indiana most of her life, she was a homemaker and worked at Stewart Warner, Chicago, for 10 years. She was a member of First Christian Church, Warsaw, and the Dorcas Society of the church.

Surviving are two daughters, Beth (and spouse Ken) Anderson, Warsaw, and Valerie (and spouse Dennis) Sabo, Granger; a son, Brian Wiard, Warsaw; two sisters, Lucille Fascinato, California, and Peggy Covell, Illinois; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Ronnie Sams officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
