Girls Swimming Sectionals Begin Swimming the preliminary round of girls sectionals Thursday at Warsaw, the hosting Warsaw Lady Tigers advanced in each event.
The top eight finishers from Thursday’s competition move on to Saturday’s 1 p.m. sectional finals’ championship races, while places nine to 16 will be in the consolation heats.
For Warsaw, Cynthia Juarez will be in the championship heats in the 200 IM and 100 fly, while Jessica Haines will be in the 200 free and 500 free.
Other Lady Tigers in the championship heats will be Ashley VanWormer (200 IM, 100 breast), Claire Wack (50 free, 100 free), Jessica Sweatland (50 free), Meghan Boston (500 free) and Malorie Rheinhardt (100 back).
All three of Warsaw’s relays also advanced.

Swimming in the Concord Sectional prelims Thursday night, the Wawasee girls swim team advanced individuals to Saturday’s 1 p.m. championship heat in 10 of 11 events. Freshman Bre Robinson finished first in the 200 free and 100 free, while senior Brittany Robinson was first in 100 fly and 100 back. Other Lady Warriors who will be in the championship heat are Kendra Miller (200 free, 50 free), Sarah Rozow (200 IM, 100 free), Rachel Rozow (200 IM, 500 free), Sarah Steele (50 free, 100 free), Karla Allen (100 back) and Kira Bailey (100 back).
