Girl Injured In Wednesday Crash

Posted

A 16-year-old girl was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 3:04 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Winona Avenue and Scott Street.

Providing information from a Warsaw Police Department accident report, Lt. Kip Shuter said the driver of a blue 2004 Toyota, Saylor Bradley, 16, Hartzler Street, Warsaw, stated she was eastbound on Winona Avenue, preparing to turn left on Scott Street, and she didn’t see any westbound traffic and thought she had the right of way. Bradley turned left and was struck by a maroon 2005 Dodge, driven by Samuel Engle, 65, CR 600S, Claypool.

Engle reported he was westbound and had the green light. He said Bradley’s vehicle, going east, turned left into his path at Scott Street. A rear-seat passenger in Bradley’s vehicle, Heyley Benedict, 16, Michaels Street, Warsaw, suffered minor bleeding to the head and was taken to the hospital by EMS. Cheyenne Mullins, 16, Van Buren Street, Leesburg, was a front-seat passenger in Bradley’s vehicle, but did not report any noticeable injuries. Engle complained of soreness, but was not taken by paramedics.
