Gilbert E. Cox, 76, a resident of Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw, passed away at 10:25 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017.
Gilbert was born Dec. 13, 1941, to Gurvase Cox and Ethel Norris Cox. Born in Shelby, Mich., he made his home in Warsaw after moving here in 1966.
Lucky enough to find love twice, Gilbert was first married to Wanda Harmon and later to Ann Merrick — both of whom preceded him in passing.
Although he worked at Dalton Foundries for more than 35 years, Gilbert enjoyed being outdoors. He found pleasure in simple activities there like cutting wood and caring for the yard. He especially enjoyed time spent hunting with his brother-in-law.
Gilbert is survived by his stepson, Dan Harmon, Warsaw; sister, Lou (husband Dan) Willard, North Manchester; and brother-in-law, Larry (wife Deb) Harmon, Silver Lake.
He was preceded in passing by his wife, Wanda Cox, who passed in 1996; and his wife, Ann, who passed in 2012. He also was preceded by his parents.
Friends are welcome at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, for visitation from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8. A funeral service that celebrates Gilbert’s life will take place at 1 p.m. and will be officiated by Pastor Terry Bradford of First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County.
Interment will be in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery following the service.
