Gibbons works with the ancient media of encaustic (pigmented bee’s wax) as well as with acrylic, oil, graphite, ink and mixed media.
Current bodies of work reflect poetry, nature, times of contemplation and prayer. Her work capitalizes on the interaction between textures, subtleties, colors and contrasts.
In addition to solo and group exhibitions, Gibbons’ work has been exhibited in various galleries nationally and internationally. Her work is held in private collections and has been included in publications.
Gibbons holds a master’s degree in fine art from Azusa Pacific University and a bachelor’s degree in fine art from Colorado State University.
Gibbons also enjoys teaching college students and adults through community workshops.
She is represented by The Royal Contemporary Gallery in Florence, Colo.
The exhibit runs through Dec. 17. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
