The Kosciusko County Community Foundation and the Kosciusko REMC Operation Round Up Fund invite the public to attend “Get On Board!” to learn about volunteer leadership opportunities.
Local nonprofits have identified recruiting and retaining effective board members as a major challenge.
“Get on Board!” offers participants an open house style forum to visit with nonprofits from throughout the county that have volunteer leadership needs.
At the event, participants will be invited to submit a time and talent survey. Those surveys will be entered into a database maintained at the Community Foundation.
As nonprofits need to fill board and committee leadership positions within their organizations, they ask the Foundation to help them find a match. Using criteria provided by the nonprofit, the searchable database matches potential board members to nonprofits.
The 4th Annual “Get on Board!” event will be at Center Lake Pavilion on Wednesday, Sept. 7 between 4 and 7 p.m., open house style. Participants will have the chance to win an iPad at the event.
Since 1968, Kosciusko County Community Foundation, Inc. has brought caring people and charitable endeavors together for the good of the community.
