Gertrude Mae 'Gertie' Kiser

NORTH WEBSTER – Gertrude Mae “Gertie” Kiser, 88, Pierceton,  passed away at 10:45 a.m. June 18, 2016, at Mason Healthcare and Rehab, Warsaw.
She was born Jan. 2, 1928, in Warsaw, to Richard and Naomi Koontz Snell. On June 1, 1947, in Warsaw, she married S. Howard Kiser, who preceded her in death July 24, 2004.
She was a lifetime Warsaw, North Webster and Pierceton area resident and graduated in 1946 from Warsaw High School. She was a homemaker and a self-employed accomplished artist. She formerly was employed as a telephone operator in Warsaw and North Webster; G & W Pizza, Syracuse; M & M Restaurant / Clarksville Shops, North Webster; and Peddlers Village, Goshen. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren, North Webster, and the Lakeland Art Association.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary (and spouse Dave) Hartup, Pierceton; three sons: Steve (and spouse Alesia) Kiser, Fort Myers, Fla.; Bill (and spouse Angie) Kiser, Mt. Airy, Ga.; and J. Lloyd (and spouse Ruth) Kiser, Churubusco; a son-in-law, Russell Adams, North Webster; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sandra Adams; two sisters, Lila Robinson and Mary Mercer; and two brothers, Bruce and Earl Snell.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster, with Pastor Tim Waits, the Rock Run Church of the Brethren, Goshen, officiating. Private family burial will take place in the North Webster Cemetery. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
