Gerald C. Carlin, 86, of North Manchester, and formerly of Warsaw, died at 10:15 a.m. June 15, 2013, in Parkview Oaks Healthcare, Columbia City.
 He was born July 3, 1926, in Kosciusko County, to Ray and Estella Evans Carlin. On Oct. 19, 1952, he married Myrna Rae Bauer, who died June 20, 2006.
He was a farmer for many years; owned and operated the Shell Gas Station, Warsaw, in the 1950s; drove milk truck for Kraft Co. and worked at Degoods Tractor Sales, both in Warsaw, in the 1960s; worked at Gast Fuel and Service, Warsaw, for 22 years; and from 1991-98 owned East End Lunch, North Manchester.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He graduated from Claypool High School in 1944 and was a member of American Legion Post 258, Pierceton.
Surviving are four sons: Roy Carlin, North Manchester; Alton (and spouse Janice) Carlin, Warsaw; Ken Carlin, Wawaka,; and Harold (and spouse Laurie) Carlin, Mentone; two daughters, Karen (and spouse Bob) Fawcett, North Manchester, and Sue (and spouse Randy) Simpson, South Whitley; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a daughter and two brothers.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
