George R. Wright, 85, died unexpectedly at 10:05 p.m. Dec. 24, 2012, in his Warsaw home. He was born March 23, 1927, in Detroit, Mich., to Walter and Christine Pool Wright. On Dec. 19, 1949, in Warsaw, he married Vera J. Cox, who died July 27, 1997. On Sept. 7, 2009, in Warsaw, he married Jean Youngs, who survives in Warsaw. He lived most of his life in Warsaw after coming from Detroit at the age of 16 or 17. He was a carpenter for 30 years, retiring April 4, 1991. He was a life member of Warsaw Eagles Lodge, Sons of VFW, and Warsaw Moose Lodge 560. Also surviving are one son, Michael Wright, Warsaw; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon Cales on Sept. 19, 1997, and Cathy Watts on Aug. 18, 2000; and one grandson, Chad Cales, who died Nov. 19, 1975. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. Dudley Waites, Victory Christian Church, North Manchester, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
