George Hatcher, 76, Warsaw, died at 2:25 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021, at home.
He was born May 20, 1945, in Partridge, Ky., to Mary Shepherd and Ruben S. Hatcher. He was married on June 7, 1965, to Betty S. Reynolds, who survives.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Dec. 20, 1963, and honorably served until his discharge on Dec. 12, 1966. He worked construction and delivered much appreciated mail to his fellow soldiers while he was in the Army.
Friends and family are invited for a time of visitation on Wednesday, May 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. His life will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Wedstel Shepherd and Pastor William Whitaker. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #49, VFW #1126 and active duty members of the Army Honor Guard.
