George Eugene Rider, 78, formerly of Kosciusko County, died Jan. 8, 2008, in Muskogee, Okla., where he resided.
He was born April 13, 1929, in Etna, to the Rev. James Albert and Elma Stump Rider. On Jan. 20, 1984, he married Phyllis Mahoney, who survives.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served as corporal from 1948-51. He was a machinist for Zimmer, Warsaw, retiring in 1987.
Also surviving are two sons, Daniel Rider, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dennis (and spouse Laurie) Going, Fort Wayne; a stepson, Darvin Setser, Warsaw; two stepdaughters, Cynthia Krieder and Cheryl Patrick, both of Warsaw; four brothers: Neil Rider, Decater, Ill.; Arden (and spouse Esther) Rider, Pierceton; Albert (and spouse Alice) Rider, North Webster; and Robert (and spouse Melinda) Rider, Augusta, Ga.; two sisters, Norma Roose, North Webster, and Joy (and spouse Jim) Leggit, Jeffersonville; six grandchildren; a great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be at Salem Cemetery.
