NORTH WEBSTER – George A. Lyons, 52, North Webster, passed away at 12:36 p.m. Jan. 1, 2015, at his residence. He was born July 20, 1962, in Evergreen Park, Ill., to Edward Joseph and Mary Joan Schramek Lyons. He grew up in the Chicago area, and attended Bremen High School, Midlothian, Ill. He was a union carpenter at local 62 in Chicago for 10 years, and formerly worked at McCormick Place, Chicago. He moved to the North Webster area in 2002 from Chicago. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #253, North Webster. Surviving are two daughters, Amber and Amy Lyons, both of North Webster; one grandson; two stepdaughters, Amanda Frye, Shinnston, W.Va., and Samantha Frye, North Webster; three step-grandchildren; three sisters: Shirley Boblink, Warsaw; Cindy Braatz and Mary (and spouse Lon) Mallory, all of North Webster; two brothers, Robert Lyons, Leesburg, and Edward (and spouse Brenda) Lyons, Syracuse. He was preceded in death by his parents and life companion, Cynthia Frye. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at American Legion Post #253, Ind. 13, North Webster.
