SYRACUSE - Geneva E. "Gee" Metzler, 94, of Syracuse, died at 8:45 p.m. Dec. 4, 2010, in Miller's Merry Manor, Syracuse.
She was born Nov. 2, 1916, in Highland County, Ohio, to Claude and Ida May Hall Case. On Sept. 12, 1953, in Nappanee, she married Norman R. "Norm" Metzler, who survives.
She graduated from Greenfield (Ohio) High School in 1934. She moved to Syracuse from North Canton, Ohio, in 1976. She was a homemaker and formerly worked for several years at Chicago Telephone, Elkhart, on the assembly line and at the Sinton Hotel in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse; a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star , Elkhart; a life associate member of Elks Lodge 2029, North Canton, Ohio; and a former member of Moose Lodge, Elkhart.
Surviving are a daughter, Emily "Jean" Renner, San Antonio, Texas; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Schiller, Chillicothe, Ohio. She was preceded by two sisters and two brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse, with Pastor David Herr officiating. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at South Union Cemetery, Nappanee.
Calling is one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
