NAPPANEE – Gene M. Heckaman, 75, Wakarusa, died at 5:45 p.m. Dec. 18, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa. He was born Aug. 27, 1940, in Goshen, to Ivo “Pete” and Mona Lou “Motz” Slabaugh Heckaman. On Aug. 9, 1959, in Nappanee, he married Janet Culp, who survives. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Tom Schiefer officiating. Burial will be in Hepton Union Cemetery.
