Gene Bair, 90, passed away June 26, 2018, in Warsaw’s Kosciusko Comm-unity Hospital. He spent much of his lifetime in Kosciusko County and was born June 1, 1928, in LaPorte County to Alvin and Florence Burns Bair.

Gene was a Leesburg High School graduate who worked for Zimmer as a leadman for more than 30 years. He was a helpful and giving person, never knowing a stranger. Gene was a gentle man and a proud father and grandfather. He was sure to always attend his children’s and grandchildren’s events over the years.

Enjoying puzzles as a hobby, Gene liked reading westerns and learning about history. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, and loved animals.

Recently, Gene and his wife, Laura (Egolf), celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. The pair were wed on June 12, 1948, in the Atwood parsonage. Laura survives in Warsaw. Also surviving are two sons, Bruce Bair, Pierceton, and Kent (Teri) Bair, Argos; grandson, Trenton Bair, Plymouth; three granddaughters: Sara Bair, Plymouth; Alissa Bair, Argos; and Keri Bair, Argos; and great-granddaughter, Carsen Perdieu, Argos. Additionally, he is survived by extended family members, Andrea and Riley VanCleave of Pierceton. He was preceded in death by four brothers and his parents.

Friends may join the family for a graveside service at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, in Wooden Cemetery, 965 CR 800W, Etna Green, IN 46524.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.
