I am really disappointed in my hometown. With the economy being the way it is, jobs being lost and homes in foreclosures, why are the gas stations here price gouging on Thanksgiving weekend? All the stations had been down to $1.62-1.64 the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. On Wednesday, the Shell station on Center Street goes up to $1.79. Everyone else stayed in the $1.60's until Thanksgiving day and then they all went up to $1.79. All the stations stayed at that price until Sunday evening or Monday morning when they dropped back to $1.69. Now they're even down a little more.
Oil prices are under $43 a barrel. Stations in Missouri and other states are down to $1.32. Even stations in other parts of the state are a lot lower than in this area. Why does Warsaw have to be one of the most expensive gas prices? At least the Village Pantry is finally down from $2.09 for over two weeks to $1.67.
It looks like the area stations would be helping the town people instead of taking all the profits they can get from them. They know we have to have gas, so why have such high prices?
