Gas Prices

Editor, Times-Union:
I know everyone is tired or other cities being cheaper then Warsaw in gas prices.

But the truth is it is not the owners’ or the managers’ fault.  They have to sell the gas for the price the oil companies tell them to. It is not their doing that we are higher then Fort Wayne, Indy, or Kokomo. They have no say in it. The owners make about 7 to 10 cents a gallon, the rest goes to the state, federal, and the companies.

Yes they can sell it for 5 or 6 cents cheaper, but then they wouldn’st be able to pay their bills. Why do you think there are so many mini marts now compared, to when i was younger?

My dad owned a Clark gas station. Only thing we sold was gas, cigs, oil, transmission fluid and ice. Even the air was free. And at that time he was only alowed 3 cents a gallon.

Not much when you see how much goes to payroll, lights, insurance, and the right to have the Clark name out front. Yes people, owners have to pay for whatever company they are leased to, plus all the rest.

So would I sell my gas for 5 or 6 cents cheaper? Would you? I don’t think so if it comes between staying in bussiness or closing the doors.

If you want to complain about the gas in Warsaw you need to go to the source. The company of whichever gas station you go to. Stop blaming the managers and owners, they a have no controll over it. They do as they are told just like you and I do as we are told at our jobs.
