A gas leak along Cleveland Street near Market Street in Warsaw was contained in less than an 1-1/2 hours Thursday.
County dispatch received a call at 11:52 a.m. of a gas leak on Cleveland Street after a company contracted by Indiana American Water Co. to fix a water line cut a two-inch gas line.
According to Warsaw Fire Department Chief Mike Rice, crews were finished by 1:08 p.m.
Rice said that all the homes in the nearby area were evacuated as NIPSCO crews worked to fix the cut gas line.
Along with NIPSCO and WFD, Warsaw Police also assisted at the scene.
