A natural gas leak occurred about 6 p.m. Friday approximately a block north of Perry Street on West Street in Warsaw. The leak was caused when a 2-inch pipe was hit by Cripe Excavating during an excavation project. Several houses were evacuated along West Street east to Lake Street and south to Fort Wayne Street. The leak was stoped by about 6: 55 p.m. and by 7 p.m. residents were able to return to their homes. The photo was taken looking north on West Street. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
