COLUMBIA CITY – Gary King, 58, Columbia City, passed away March 15, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
He was born July 4, 1955, in Columbia City to Roderick A. and Dorothy A. Coffelt King.
He enjoyed nature in general and loved being outdoors. He loved all animals and always had a dog nearby. To him, “every dog was Cocoa.”  He was a connoisseur of watches and also of piggybanks to collect all of his change.
Survivors include his sister Kathaleen (and spouse Michael) McKinney, Columbia City; a brother, Roderick (and spouse Cassie) King II, Columbia City; two uncles, Gene (and spouse Marie) Coffelt and Dale (and spouse Sharon) Coffelt, both of Columbia City; two aunts, Carolyn (and spouse Jan) Fleck, Warsaw, and Treva (and spouse Stan) Berry, Stockton, Calif.; two nieces, Melissa McKinney, Pierceton, and Hollie McKinney, Columbia City; a great-niece, Aressa Tackwell; four great-nephews: Blase McKinney, Alex and Matthew Dial, and Wyatt Woods. He was preceded in death by his father, Roderick A. King, who died Feb. 26, 2014; his mother, Dorothy A. King; a brother, Terry Randall King; all of his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at DeMoney-Grimes a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with certified funeral celebrant Sharon Brockhaus officiating. Burial is in South Park Annex Cemetery,  Columbia City.
Calling is one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
