Gary FugateNORTH WEBSTER – Gary Fugate, 67, of Warsaw, passed away at 3:19 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne.
He was born on April 26, 1954, in Saldee, Ky., to Walter and Evalee Farler Fugate.
He grew up in Viper, Ky., attended Dilce High School in Jeff, Ky., and moved to Indiana in 1972. He was married on Dec. 23, 1975, in North Webster, to Marlene K. Speigel, who survives. He retired from Kimble Glass in Warsaw (machinist) after 34 years. He formerly worked at Warsaw Coil, Royal Crown in Milford, Omco in Pierceton and Walmart in Warsaw.
Gary had a huge heart and made everyone he loved feel like they were the only person in the world. His favorite song to sing to his children was “You are My Sunshine,” where he would change the lyrics to “you’ll never know, how much your daddy loves you.” He will be forever missed.
He is survived by wife, Marlene Fugate, of Warsaw; daughter, Tracy (Martin) Allmon, of Warsaw; three sons: Courtney (Jennifer) Fugate, of Beirut, Lebanon; Jason (Joel Seagle) Fugate, of Fort Wayne; and Jesse (Brandy) Fugate, of Claypool; 12 grandchildren; brother, Jim Fugate, of Warsaw; two sisters: Norma (Kevin) Fugate-Gipson, of Peru, Ind.; and Carol Caudell, of Viper, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: William and David Fugate; and seven half brothers and sisters: Rosella, Arbutus, Ruby, Jessie, Junior, Vincent and Pauline.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6 at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7 in the funeral home with Steve Angel officiating. Burial will be in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
