One candidate has filed for the Mentone Town Council seat vacated by Jack Simpson.
Simpson resigned Dec. 6 from the council, citing personal reasons.
According to Kosciusko County Republican Party Chairman Randy Girod, Kent T. Ganshorn, of 510 N. Broadway St., Mentone, has filed for Simpson's seat. Ganshorn has filed a Declaration of Candidacy form with Girod.
The caucus for the town council seat will be at 6 p.m. Monday.
The deadline for filing a Declaration of Candidacy with Girod for the Mentone Town Council is Friday at 6 p.m. Candidacy forms are available at the county clerk's office.
