Citing a lifelong love of sports, self-described "sports fanatic" Lauren Gaba has assumed the newly created role of program director for the City-County Athletic Complex.
Gaba's duties will include overseeing all the leagues that the CCAC offers as well as working on operations and advertising.
The CCAC currently offers soccer and softball leagues, but Gaba hopes to expand what the complex can offer.
"We're trying to start up volleyball and flag football leagues," said Gaba in a phone interview Friday afternoon.
She also said the CCAC will try and grow a men's day league for softball geared toward third-shift workers.
Originally from Chicago, Gaba attended Immaculate Heart of Mary High School near Chicago. She is a 2008 graduate of Purdue where she majored in communications with an emphasis in public relations and advertising
