G. Stephen BennettG. Stephen Bennett, age 76, of Atwood, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, at 5:30 a.m. in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born on June 30, 1943, in Alum Bridge, W.Va., to Gloy N. and Bernice Woofter Bennett. He was married to Linda Hopkins on March 25, 1963, in Warsaw.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County since 1953. He worked as a machinist for Zimmer Inc., retiring in 1998 with 24 years of service. He was a member of Warsaw Family Worship Center.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Bennett, of Atwood; children: Steven R. Bennett, of North Webster; Penny (Steve) Thomas, of Warsaw; daughters-in-law, Brooke and Le Ann Bennett, both of Warsaw; 13 grandchildren: Krystal, Matt, Andrew, Michael, Alishia, Carrie, Steven, Kyle, Darin, Morgan, Melanie, Kenyan and Brody. In addition, he is survived by 22 great-grandchildren and sister, Connie (Max) Jamison, of Claypool.
He was preceded in death by sons, Kevin and Robert; sister, Marlene Leiter; one grandson; one great-grandchild; daughter-in-law, Teresa Bennett; granddaughter-in-law, Brittany Weaver; stepfather, Steve Klinger; and both of his parents.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with his funeral service starting at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel. Pastors William Whitaker and Carl Adams will be officiating the services. Interment will be private.
