G. Ruth Flora, 81, of Winona Lake, passed away of natural causes Feb. 23, 2012, in her residence.
She was born Jan. 16, 1931, in Gary, to William and Ruth Schuster. On May 12, 1951, she married R. Mark Flora, who died May 7, 1998.
She was a cashier at Owen’s Supermarket and a greeter at Walmart. She and her family moved to Chapman Lake in 1971 and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Surviving are three brothers, George, John and Bill Schuster; a sister, Crystal; five children: Richard (and spouse Vicki) Flora, Florida; Lovisa (and spouse Jack) Wiseman, Pierceton; David (and spouse Joy) Flora and Elizabeth (and spouse Jeff) Slone, all of Warsaw; and Gail (and spouse Tom) Shively, Claypool; 11 grandchildren: Joshua (and spouse Kim) Flora, Brownsburg; Bess (and spouse James) Navalta, Kentucky; Joe Wiseman, Pierceton; Erin (and spouse Brad) Yoder, Indianapolis; David (and spouse Lesley) Flora, Plymouth; Rebecca Baney and Brian Shively (and fiance Emilyn Donley), all of Claypool; Tim (and spouse Tiffanie) Flora, Silver Lake; Ryan Slone (and fiance Kelsey Shaller), Warsaw; Jessica Slone (and fiance Kyle Friend), Fort Wayne; and Matt Shively, Lafayette; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She donated her body to I.U. Medical. A graveside service will be at a later date in Sharon.
