The Lee Anne Stewart Fusion Dance Team’s dreams came true this summer as they danced down Main Street at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Many long hours of hard work and training culminated in a fun-filled Disney experience for the dancers, which included working with Disney choreographers, seeing “backstage” at the Magic Kingdom and performing on stage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Magic Kingdom parade dance, performed by more than 400 dancers from across the country, was set to “Ease on Down the Road” from “The Wiz,” and each dancer wore a specially designed costume and ruby red shoes. After their return to Indiana, the Lee Anne Stewart Fusion dancers entertained spectators during the September Nappanee Apple Festival parade with a repeat performance of “Ease on Down the Road.” The team was rewarded with first place for their effort. Fusion Dance Team performances continue with appearances at “Taste & Trade” at Winona Lake, at Goshen First Friday Nov. 2 and in “The Nutcracker.” “The Nutcracker” is a collaborative effort with Symphony of the Lakes providing the live music excerpts from the holiday favorite. The 2 p.m. performance takes place Dec. 2 at the Warsaw Performing Arts Center. Admission is free and donations benefit Symphony of the Lakes.
