Further Disagreement Between Fussle, King

Posted
Warsaw Flying Club President Jon Fussle claimed by phone Wednesday that the Board of Aviation Commissioners never provided him with a copy of an agreed-upon promissory note he was asked to sign arranging payment of club debt to the airport. Airport Manager Nick King contended later Wednesday that Fussle received a copy during March’s board meeting and had been in possession of the note for three weeks prior to signing it.
King stated that when Fussle arrived at the airport March 31 to sign the note, he brought his copy in with him.
The promissory note was drafted after Fussle failed to pay the agreed-upon monthly payment of $500 per month in February – an installment toward the more than $9,000 in fuel debt the club accrued between 2011 and 2012. The original agreement was verbal in nature.
Fussle signed the promissory note March 31, which made him legally responsible for paying approximately $488 per month for a total of 17 months. But the club failed to meet the April 1 deadline for the first installment.
As of Wednesday morning, Fussle stated he took a cashier’s check to the city attorney’s office in the amount of $7,281.74, paying the remaining debt in full.
