The recent Evening Viewing of the Gardens fundraising event netted $20,000 for the Warsaw Biblical Gardens. The event was hosted by Lake City Bank and Brent Wilcoxson with the Village at Winona¨.

The evening started with a wine-and-cheese reception in the Gardens, which allowed time for patrons to stroll among the flowers, plants and trees in the Gardens and to view the artwork donated for the silent auction.

The artists participating in the auction were: Terry Armstrong, a watercolor, "Trillium"; Duane Darland, a hand-blown glass vessel in greens and browns; Robert Hudson, a pencil rendering of "Music in the Garden," an original drawing of the Biblical Gardens, including a cellist; Steve Johnson, a watercolor of a backyard garden and fountain; Mike Kelly, a pastel landscape; Jennifer Ortega, a watercolor, "Sedum"; and Mary Pat Wallen, mixed media in a contemporary inspirational sculpture.

Following the reception, guests enjoyed a picnic dinner and music by MasterWorks musicians, under the direction of Dr. Patrick Kavanaugh. The program started with classical numbers that included a clarinet solo and a violin and viola duet. The program concluded with a suite of familiar Gershwin tunes sung by Karen Wilder, accompanied by the orchestra.

Rebecca Kubacki, co-chairperson for the event, said, "Warsaw is so fortunate to have the Biblical Gardens, which started with the donation of the land by the Myer Levin family. Since then, the Gardens have been driven and supported by long-standing individual members of the community. We also especially want to thank Dr. Dean Jansen for his medical assistance during the event."

Vendors, who provided goods and services, included: the Boathouse Restaurant, Clocktower Bakery, Vintage France, all in the Village at Winona; Rabb/Kinetico Water Systems; and Able Printing and Business Services LLC.

Other individual donors were: Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bertsch; Biomet Inc.; Butt and Timmons Construction; Grossnickle Family Foundation; Mr. and Mrs. Roger D. Hyden; Mrs. Doris Kubacki; Mr. and Mrs. Michael L. Kubacki; Mr. and Mrs. George Lenke; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Levin; Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Mikesell; Mrs. Betty Morgan; Mr. and Mrs. Chandler Williams; and Zimmer Inc.
