Towns and lake associations throughout the county celebrated Independence Day over the weekend. Fireworks and parades were abundant, as well as some less traditional events - such as flotillas - on Wawasee, Tippecanoe and Chapman lakes. The good news is that apparently most of the festivities were safe as well as fun because there were no reports of serious accidents or injuries.
