When Angela D. Frye goes on trial for stabbing a man, she'll face a different judge than she's seen in the past.
Frye, 33, of Warsaw, pleaded guilty in August to stabbing Charles Adams, 32, of Warsaw. Adams suffered a cut to his forearm that went to the bone. He underwent emergency surgery after the January 1998 incident involving an 18-inch butcher knife.
Kosciusko Superior Court I Judge Duane Huffer rejected Frye's plea agreement when she appeared for sentencing Sept. 22 and the matter has been set for trial in November.
After that hearing, Frye's attorney, David R. Hoffman of South Bend, requested a change of judge in the matter and the Hon. Michael D. Cook of Marshall Circuit Court will preside over the trial.
