Friends Of The Nappanee Public Library Art Sale Set For Sept. 25

Posted

NAPPANEE — For decades, the Nappanee Public Library has collected artwork from local artists and past Spring Into Art events.
The collection of more than 150 pieces includes prints, original paintings, photography and a few sculptures. These works have added beauty and character to the library, and many pieces were even checked out and displayed in community members’ homes. As the library prepares for a major renovation this fall, its future spaces will be more flexible but have less wall space. Because of this, the art collection will be retired, giving the community the chance to enjoy these pieces in new ways, according to a provided news release.
The Friends of the Nappanee Public Library will host a Preview Party on Sept. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. Guests will enjoy refreshments, music and early access to shop the collection. Tickets are $8 if purchased by Sept. 15 and $10 from Sept. 16–25. Tickets must be purchased with cash at the library. Each ticket also includes one raffle ticket to win the print My Bookshelf by Jessica Flores.
The art sale will take place the following day, Sept. 26, during library hours. Artwork will be priced between $5 and $100, with sculptures priced individually. During the sale, there will be silent auctions, bundles and a display highlighting the history of Spring Into Art. All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Nappanee Public Library, who support programs, events and staff at the library. Only cash or checks will be accepted during the sale.
