NAPPANEE - Freemon D. Borkholder, 75, of 1133 2 B Road, Nappanee, died at 9:45 a.m. May 19, 2008, in the emergency room at Community Hospital, Bremen.

He was born Oct. 11, 1932, in Marshall County, to Daniel J. and Emma Coblentz Borkholder. On April 26, 1956, in Nappanee, he married Margaret Hershberger, who survives.

A lifetime area resident, he was founder and owner of Borkholder Buildings, Borkholder Dutch Village and Borkholder Furniture, Nappanee. He attended Bethel Conservative Church and was affiliated with Gideons.

Also surviving are two sons, Dwayne (and spouse Jolene) and Jonathan (and spouse Marcia) Borkholder, both of Nappanee; three daughters, Lorene K. Borkholder and Sue Etta (and spouse Orus) Yoder, both of Bremen, and Cheryl Borkholder, Flushing, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Eli (and spouse Velma) Borkholder, Bremen, and Alvin (and spouse Ruth Ann) Borkholder, Nappanee; and three sisters, Katie (and spouse Joe) Whetstone and Laura D. (and spouse Oscar Jr.) Schmucker, both of Nappanee, and Anna Mae (and spouse Floyd) Bender, Bremen. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Nappanee Missionary Church with Minister Lyle Miller officiating, assisted by Home Ministry. Burial will be in Bethel Conservative Church Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Bethel Conservative Church and one hour prior to the service Thursday at Nappanee Missionary Church.
