COLUMBIA CITY – With Medicare Open Enrollment underway and important changes to Medicare Advantage and Part D plans coming next year, local residents are invited to attend free education sessions in Columbia City and Warsaw, hosted by Scott Allison of Allison & Associates Insurance.
Allison is the company’s owner and is a Medicare advisor, according to a provided news release.
Allison & Associates Insurance is based in Columbia City and offers health and life insurance options including Marketplace, Medicare Advantage and Part D plans. Allison has helped hundreds of clients maneuver the enrollment process since opening in 2022. He has eight years of experience as a trusted advisor, the release states. He received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and is a United States Air Force veteran. He is also a Columbia City native.
“I want to make sure those participating in these plans know they don’t have to go it alone. It can be overwhelming. I help educate clients on their options and help guide them to the plan that’s right for them,” said Allison, a licensed insurance agent.
In 2026, Medicare Advantage and Part D plans will see several changes including higher out-of-pocket limits for prescriptions, potential increases in premiums and deductibles, and tighter rules on supplemental benefits and prior authorizations. Plans may also adjust drug formularies and coverage rules, making crucial for beneficiaries to review their options.
As part of the effort to help educate clients, Allison is holding four free sessions during open enrollment. Attendees do not need to be clients of Allison & Associates Insurance to attend.
In Columbia City, sessions are Oct. 25 and Nov. 22 at Peabody Library, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. In Warsaw, sessions are Nov. 1 and Nov. 8 at Warsaw Community Public Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Those planning to attend should RSVP by calling 574-212-2888 and should bring their Medicare ID card to the session. Medicare Open Enrollment runs from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7.
Allison & Associates is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency. For accommodations of persons with special needs at the sessions, call the Peabody Library at 260-244-5541 or the Warsaw Library at 260-267-6011.
