SYRACUSE – Frederick R. “Fred” Mock, 75, Syracuse, passed away at 6 p.m. Dec. 23, 2014, at his residence. He was born March 8, 1939, in North Webster, to Wayne and Arlene L. Green Mock. On March 12, 1966, in Syracuse, he married Becky S. Fisher, who survives. He attended North Webster High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and lived most of his life in the North Webster/Syracuse area except for 14 years in California. He retired in 2014 from J.C. Pontoon in North Webster after 24 years of service. He formerly attended the Baptist church. Also surviving are a daughter, Danielle Mayberry, Buford, S.C.; a son, Eric (and spouse Amy) Mock, Grand Rapids, Mich.; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; four sisters: Marjorie (and spouse Chuck) Mabie and Gloria Mabie, all of Sarasota, Fla.; Norma (and spouse Harold) George, Apache Junction, Ariz.; Carolyn Krum, New Paris; five brothers: Allen Mock, Sacramento, Calif.; Bruce (and spouse Bev) and Doug (and spouse Jan) Mock, all of New Paris; Steve (and spouse Fran) Mock, Tucson, Ariz.; and Rodney (and spouse Vickie) Mock, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Sean Ray Mock; two sisters, Delores Neff and Jo Ellen Steger; and four brothers: Russell, Clare, Dick and Robert Mock. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, with Pastor Bud Winstead of the West Etna Community Church, Larwill, officiating. Burial is in the Mock Addition of North Webster Cemetery with military graveside services.
