Frederick J. ‘Fred’ Brown

ROCHESTER – Frederick J.  "Fred" Brown,  98, Fulton County, died at 3:55 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.

He was born on Jan. 7, 1921, in Fulton County, to Eugene and Nancy Ella Winn Brown.

He served with the United States Army from 1942-1946. He earned three Bronze Stars, a sharpshooter rifle badge, combat infantryman badge, World War II Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon.

He was a former Fulton County commissioner.

A celebration of his life will be at 10 a.m. Friday, with calling one hour prior, in Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.

Calling also is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the IOOF Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m.

Military rites will be accorded by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Army Honors Team.    Interment will be in Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
