AKRON – Freddie Wayne Allen, 50, of 751 E. Walnut St., Nappanee, and formerly of Hurley, Va., and Akron, died March 11, 2013, in his sister’s residence. He was born Sept. 16, 1963, in Grundy, Va., to Fred B. and Okie Lester Allen. He worked at Miller Manufacturing Co. for 19 years as a setup man. Surviving are two sisters, Tabatha Blankenship and Diane Blankenship (and fiance Michael Reed), all of Akron. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with Pastor Connie Cline officiating. Burial will be in Nichols Cemetery, Akron.
