Fred Harold Holst, 65, of Warsaw, died at 1:25 a.m. Dec. 4, 2010, in his residence.

He was born Sept. 25, 1945, in Jersey City, N.J., to Fred Henry and Marie Krommenhoek Holst. On Sept. 21, 1968, in Kearney, N.J., he married Lois Cairney, who survives.

He graduated from Bergen County Technical and Vocational High School, Hackensack, N.J., in 1963, and from Montclair (N.J.) State University in 1974. He moved to Warsaw from New Jersey in 1985. He worked as a senior account manager for Flint Group, Warsaw, and was a member of the Warsaw Bowling Association, Warsaw Bowling Association Hall of Fame and the Warsaw Little League, of which he was a former trustee on the board of directors.

Also surviving are three children: Fred Lawson Holst, Warsaw; Andrew William Holst, Leesburg; and Sandra Holst Meerzo, Fort Wayne; five grandchildren: Jacob, Jevin and Andrew Jr. and Carter Holst and Owen Meerzo; and a sister, Marilyn Zogheb, Wayne, N.J. He was, preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, David Zogheb.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with William Cairney officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
