Fraudulent Candidates

Editor, Times-Union:
As many of you are aware, we are closing in on the 2012 elections, which have been going on for the better part of three years and nearly all of the candidates for president are complete frauds. We have the current president, Barack Obama, who says that he is a Democrat. This is bull because he is a statist, but not the typical Democrats who are economic statists and social individualists. This president is turning into a socialist statist who put the state over the individual in all aspects of our life. Democratic statists want to bankrupt this country by promising more free money than they can give out and increasing our debt.

On the opposite side of the coin we have Republican statists like Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain and Tim Pawlenty who are economic individualists and social statists.  They’re for lowering taxes, less regulation; so on and so forth, but at the same time curb individual rights by saying that you cannot do something in the privacy of your own home, of your own free will. These types of people will bankrupt this country by spending money we do not have on war.

We need a candidate who is an individualist on both social and economic issues. A candidate who lets Americans keep more of our money, gets government back within its means economically, socially and above all else, constitutionally.

There is an ad by Ron Paul on You Tube that goes like this: “We now are a nation known to start war. We feel compelled due because of our insecurity that we have to go over to these countries to maintain our empire. We have 700 bases, we’re in 130 countries, and we’re talking about bombing Iran. It is such a dramatic change from what is truly American and truly constitutional. I don’t want to run the world, the Constitution does not give me the authority to run the world, and we ought to mind our own business is what we need to do! With all this spending overseas, wasted money. This is a continuation of a revolution.  It is a peaceful revolution. It is up to you to spread this message around this country. This is an American cause; it is a cause of freedom. There is something going on in this country and it is big!”
Some of you are thinking, “Oh brother, Ron Paul, he’s crazy, he’s loony he’s psychotic, etc.” Yet I want someone to explain to me what is wrong who someone who says that we can be better in the world by acting on the ideals on which this country was founded. Ron Paul is a politician who has standards, but will not impose them on other people because he does not have the Constitutional authority to do so. Michele Bachman claims she’s a Constitutional conservative, yet she voted to extend the Patriot Act. He rejects Keynesian economics and supports free-market mises’ economics.

Here is Ron Paul in a nutshell: “A patriot is an individual who is willing to stand up against one’s own government when the government is wrong.”
