Franklin Lopshire, 89, died at 12:10 p.m. Nov. 5, 2012, in his residence at Miller’s Merry Manor,  Warsaw.
He was born Sept. 3, 1923, in Fort Wayne, to Harry Franklin and Agnes Mae Sorgen Lopshire.
He was a 1940 graduate of Central High School, Fort Wayne. He then served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was honorably discharged. He worked for Guarantee Auto, Huntington, for 23 years as the store manager. He was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past four years.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald Franklin (and spouse Lorna) Lopshire, Lebanon, Ohio, and Douglas N. (and spouse Margaret) Lopshire, Warsaw; four grandchildren;  four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathryn M. Vachon, Little Rock, Ark., and Madelyn Jane Knuth, Fort Wayne; and a brother, Harold W. Lopshire, Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Russ Dewell. Military rites will be by members of the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard. Burial will be at a later date in Harlan Memorial Cemetery.
