Franklin Colburn, 80, of North Manchester, died at 7 a.m. May 18, 2009, in his residence.
He was born June 8, 1928, in Hamilton, Ala., to Floyd and Nola James Colburn. On Aug. 1, 1952, he married Martha Mullinix, who survives.
He was a serviceman with Public Service for 36 years, retiring in 1985. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1946-49. He was a life member and past commander of American Legion Post 286, North Manchester, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (and spouse Mark) Leiter, Bullhead City, Ariz., and Diana (and spouse Alan) Macnak, Warsaw; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, with Pastors David Overmyer and J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
