Frank Hernandez, 59, of Cromwell, died at 3:28 a.m. Jan. 21, 2011, in his residence.

He was born June 13, 1951, in San Antonio, Texas, to Jose and Nestora Estrada Hernandez. On March 10, 1973, in Milford, he married Maria Rangel, who survives.

A 50-year Kosciusko County resident, he was a machine operator at Supreme Corp., Goshen, and formerly worked at CSX Railroad. He attended Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, Cromwell. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran, serving during the Vietnam War from 1968-70, as a lance corporal in Company A, Amphibious Track Battalion.

Also surviving are four daughters, Mary Veronica (and spouse Jose) Vazquez, Patricia Hernandez and Adrienne Hernandez, all of Cromwell, and Christine (and spouse Chet) Goodman, Pierceton; his mother, Nestora Hernandez, Elkhart; three brothers: Joe Hernandez Jr. Topeka; David Hernandez, Milford; and Fred Hernandez, Elkhart; and four sisters, Mary Luisa Hernandez and Connie Hermosillo, both of Milford; Teresita Hernandez, Goshen; and Alice Navarro, Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lakeside Chapel, Cromwell, with Pastors Harlan Steffen, Brad Cox and Roy Blake officiating. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Legion Circle at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military rites by members of American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126, both in Warsaw.
