Frank Charles Spry, 59, of Mentone, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 9, 2012, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born June 13, 1952, in Rochester, N.Y., to Donald Spry.
Living in Mentone for 12 years, he was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard, serving in Vietnam. He was a truck driver for Explorer Van, Warsaw, before becoming disabled. He enjoyed fishing and “hanging out” with his daughter. This strong yet loving and caring dad raised his daughter on his own from the time she was 6. She was everything to him and he was everything to her. He was proud of Jessica and enjoyed going to her basketball games. They often made candles together. He pushed her to make a way for herself by going to college and getting a good job so that she would not have to become dependent upon anyone for her needs.
Surviving are a daughter, Jessica Spry, Mentone; and a brother, Edward (and spouse Pat) Spry, Newport, Va. He was preceded in death by his mother when he was 9.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Bob Jarboe, Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice Chaplain.
Calling is one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
