Frances Rita Beck, 88, of 8803 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, died at 12:55 a.m. April 15, 2009, at Greenwood Village South, Greenwood.

She was born July 1, 1920, in Michigan City, to Leo and Minnie Hart Stone. on April 24, 1942, she married Benny Wayne Beck Jr., who preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker. She resided in Hobart from 1950 to 1995, then moved to Indianapolis where she resided for the past 13 years. She attended Southport United Methodist Church, Indianapolis. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hobart, and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 5365 - Kostbade-Fowbie Post Ladies Auxiliary of Hobart.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara (and spouse Harry) Gigous, Warsaw, and Pamela Schmoll, Greenwood; four grandchildren: Rachel Bush, Indianapolis; Joshua Gigous, Ephrata, Pa.; Aaron Gigous, Bartonville, Ill.; Rebecca Combs, Grand Rapids, Mich.; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bud Stone, Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry Beck; three brothers and two sisters.

Services will be at 1 p.m. (CST) Friday at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, Schererville, with Pastor Mark Fisher officiating. There will be a memorial service at 7 p.m. Sunday at Crestwood Nursing Home, Building 2, 8803 S. Madison Avenue, Indianapolis. Burial will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (CST) Friday at the funeral home.
