Frances Maxine Overholser

COLUMBIA CITY – Frances Maxine Overholser, 83, of Columbia City, died at 1:20 a.m. Feb. 3, 2013, in Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.   
She was born Sept. 13, 1929, in Churubusco, to John Franklin and Zula Hawk Davis. In 1950, she married Kenneth Clark, who died in 1969.  On Jan. 1, 1973, she married Frank Overholser, who died in 1990.
She graduated from Churubusco High School in 1947. She resided in Thorncreek Township Whitley County for 24 years. She lived in Larwill until moving to Columbia City in 2006. She was a cook at Thorncreek School and Columbia Restaurant.  She owned and operated a restaurant and M&M Bargains and Ceramic Shop, Larwill.  A former member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church and Larwill United Methodist Church, she served in both churches women’s organizations.
Surviving are daughters, Diana (and spouse Duane) Smith, Carol Clark and Cheryl (and spouse Jim) Rice, all of Columbia City, and Karen (and spouse Kenneth) Cupp, South Whitley; three stepdaughters, Sharon (and spouse Richard) Brundige, Arizona; Norma Kepler, Fort Wayne; and Shirley Jeffers, Wabash; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by 12 brothers, a sister and a grandson.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home,  Columbia City. Burial will be in Blue River Community Cemetery.
