Frances “Fran” Shively, 94, Claypool, passed away at 11:25 p.m. Aug. 16, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born April 18, 1921, in Warsaw, to Royal and Lucile Valentine Neff. On Feb. 14, 1944, in San Luis Obispo, Calif., she married Donald Shively, who survives in Claypool. She graduated from Claypool High School in 1939 and was a lifetime resident of Claypool. She was a stay-at-home mom before becoming the librarian for Claypool Elementary School for 18 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Claypool United Methodist Church, where she was the pianist and a member of the choir. She was a member of the Claypool United Methodist Women, Happy Homemakers Home Ec. Club; a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan; and she loved to watch Warsaw Community High School basketball. Also surviving are: three sons, David (and spouse Sherry) Shively, John (and spouse Peggy) Shively and Thomas (and spouse Gail) Shively, all of Claypool; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha (and spouse Don) Ault, Claypool; and her dog, Riley. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dr. Robert Neff, who died April 23, 2012. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Claypool United Methodist Church, with Pastor Michael Settles officiating. Burial is in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
