Harrison Elementary School fourth-grader Shreya Vuriti scored the most points in a single given day compared to all students in the state of Indiana using the Achieve3000 program for intermediate level students called KidBiz3000.

On a recent Friday in February, Shreya earned 708 points. Her name was posted in the KidBiz State Daily Top Score Board.

KidBiz3000 provides Web-based, individualized reading and writing instruction for second through fifth grade. The program reaches every student at his or her reading level. Assignments are distributed to an entire class but tailored to each student’s reading level.

Lee Snider, Harrison principal, commented that Harrison students really enjoy this program.

"KidBiz3000 is a great intervention for our intermediate students," he said. "Our before school English Learners club (Club 456) students use this program."

Students also log on at home and continue reading and writing about current news after school hours. Shreya’s teacher, Judy Kinsey, has noted that since Jan. 1, her students have logged more than 90 hours on KidBiz3000 after school hours.
