Four Hurt, One Arrested After Crash

Alcohol, high speed and disregarding traffic signals were all factors in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday at 8:38 p.m. at the intersection of Lake City Highway and Silveus Crossing, police say.
Warsaw Police Department officer Ross Minear noticed a vehicle traveling at an extremely high speed just before the accident, according to the police report. The driver, Jordon Snoke, 23, Crescent Drive, Warsaw, ran a red light and collided with a vehicle driven by Bailey A. Hammel, 17, East CR 450N, Warsaw.
After the collision, Snoke continued driving and crossing the median and the vehicle tipped on its side into an embankment. He climbed out of the driver side window with blood on his face.
Lutheran Air Ambulance arrived at the scene and transported Snoke’s passenger, Chaise R. Belcher, 23, North CR 175E, Warsaw, to Lutheran Hospital where he was treated and released. Others involved were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital with minor injuries. Hammel suffered from pain throughout her entire body, and her passenger, Alyson Grindle, 15, Knollwood Drive, Warsaw, complained of pain throughout her entire body.
U.S. 30 eastbound was completely closed for about two hours and U.S. 30 westbound was closed for an hour and a half, and then restricted to one lane for another thirty minutes with the helicopter on scene.
The WPD was assisted by Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash team, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, the Indiana State Police, Multi-Township EMS, Lutheran Air and Warsaw Wayne Fire Territory.
Snoke was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and causing bodily injury. He is being held at Kosciusko County jail on a $10,000 bond.
