One person was flown to Parkview Hospital by Samaritan Air Ambulance and three others were treated for unspecified injuries at Kosciusko Community Hospital after an accident early Sunday morning.

Michael L. Rodman, 30, of Ligonier, was flown from KCH to Parkview Hospital with head injuries. Originally listed in serious condition, Rodman's status was upgraded to fair condition, according to hospital officials this morning.

Passengers in Rodman's 1982 Chevrolet Chevette - Todd Boocher, 31, of Claypool; Joseph Gieb, 21, of Etna Green; and Rachel Neace, 22, of Warsaw - were transported to KCH for unknown injuries.

According to statements and evidence collected by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Rodman was westbound on Rozella Road when he pulled into the path of a 2000 GMC Pickup driven by Nicholas M. Fisher, 24, of Denver, Ind., that was southbound on Zimmer Road.

Fisher's truck struck Rodman's car on the passenger side, left the roadway, hit a utility pole and fled the scene of the accident.

The unoccupied truck was later found near the intersection of Ind. 25 and CR 250S.

Fisher, of 7733 W. CR 500N, Denver, was found later and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 7:45 a.m. Sunday for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. His bond was set at $250.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, and the incident remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department. The Warsaw Police Department, Warsaw Fire Department, Multi-Township EMS and Mentone EMS assisted at the scene.
