Four Facing Charges In Claypool Drug Bust

Four people were arrested Thursday in a drug bust in Claypool.

Drake Allen Cochran, 27, Walnut Street, Claypool, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of a hypodermic syringe.

Cora Gail Warstler, 23, South Street, Burket, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hypodermic syringe and visiting a common nuisance.

Zackery Hernandez, 30, Hepler Drive, Warsaw, was arrested for visiting a common nuisance and a probation violation.

David Alan Shad, 30, homeless, was arrested for visiting a common nuisance, failure to appear and a probation violation.

A search warrant was issued to the West Walnut Street address by the Kosciusko County SWAT team. During the search, NET 43 located firearms, methamphetamine and a substantial number of hypodermic needles.

All four were taken into custody without incident by SWAT officers, according to a press release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrests came through an investigation the Claypool Police Department did based upon anonymous tips. Kosciusko County’s unified narcotics unit, NET 43, assisted in the case at the request of the Claypool Police Department where NET 43 continued to gather information on the West Walnut Street address.

NET 43 was also assisted by Indiana Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, the Indiana State Police, Norfolk Southern Railroad Police, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Lutheran Emergency Medical Services.

Cochran, Warstler, Hernandez and Shad were taken to the Kosciusko County Jail. Hernandez and Shadd have no bond, while Warstler’s bond is $5,250 and Cochran’s bond is $10,250.
